Youth Group

Young people, grades 6 through 12, are given the opportunity to interact with peers, acquire a sense of belonging, and develop healthy self-concepts. There are both social and spiritual activities.

Are you ready to take a larger role in your parish involvement? Are you excited to have some fun and meet new friends? Are you willing to make a difference through service projects?

My name is Melissa Hund-Cerna and I am the Youth Minister for Saint Anne’s Parish Family. I'm from Fargo and studied Theology at the College of St. Ben's near St. Cloud, MN. I volunteered for two years in Peru where I met and married my husband, Jhon. We have a little dog as our baby. I want to get to know you and show you how you can become a larger part of your church through discipleship, fellowship, connecting the word to real life issues, prayer and worship, and service and justice.

Future Youth Events:

Youth in Theology and Ministry - June 17- 30, 2012 - Registration deadline May 31st, 2012

Every year, some of the best and brightest Catholic high school students from all over the country gather for two weeks of intensive spiritual growth at Saint John's School of Theology·Seminary's Youth in Theology and Ministry program. YTM, affectionately called "God Camp" by many youth participants, is a camp for high school youth who want to more deeply understand and live out their Catholic Christian faith.

Trinity Youth Camp - Camp of the Cross, Garrison, ND July 18- 22, 2012

Trinity Youth Camp is for youth entering grades 4 - 8 who like to have fun, meet new people, and renew old friendships. Trinity Youth Camp's mission is to bring children of our Catholic faith together to enkindle within them the fire and love of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in a natural camp environment, where they are accepted as they are, formed in our faith, and encouraged to further unfold the mystery of God.

National Catholic Youth Conference

The National Catholic Youth Conference is an exciting, biennial three-day experience of prayer, community, and empowerment for Catholic teenagers and their adult chaperones. The schedule includes keynote addresses, concurrent and workshop sessions addressing a wide variety of topics. There are also opportunities for liturgy, reconciliation, prayer and worship, recreation and special activities such as concerts, exhibits, and the interactive thematic park.

SEARCH for Christian Maturity

The "Search" is a weekend during which young men and women come together for a sharing of faith, fun and fellowship. It is not however, a cure-all for the problems youth may have although it is very helpful. Rather it is an opportunity for you to gain a greater insight into the meaning of Christ in your life as well as insights into the way your faith may find expression in the world. This is done through Search's youth to youth approach.

Search for Christian Maturity came in the 1960's from the CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) of San Francisco, California. In May of 1966, the Search for Christian Maturity was adopted by the National Catholic Youth Organization as the official retreat program for the United States of America. In the ensuing years, the Search was initiated in over 75 diocese in the U.S. as well as in other countries.

Search is a strong program which helps Catholic young people take up the Holy Father’s challenge to be the future evangelizers in the Church. Many young people come to discover for the first time, that God loves them and that they can reach Him.
